Couple your Bushido to an SRM, Quarq
& Powertap power meter

Professional cyclists often work with power meters, such as the SRM, Quarq or Powertap by CycleOps. The Bushido uses ANT technology. If you have a power meter that does too, you can couple it to your Bushido trainer. Your power meter will then direct the Bushido brake. This means that the power measurements of the Bushido and your meter are identical. The values are the same and there is no longer a difference between training indoors and outdoors. Bushido will still measure your speed and cadence though. If you wish to use this option, you need to first download the latest update of the Bushido firmware. Here are the coupling and calibrating instructions.

Coupling
A power meter must first be coupled to the Bushido before it can be used. During the coupling process it is important that there are no other active ANT power sensors than your power meter, this in regard to possible interference. Select the function Settings > Ext.Sensor > Power on the Bushido computer. Activate the power meter’s sensor by rotating the wheel or crank a couple of times. Then choose Coupling to the Bushido. If the message Uncouple appears in the menu it means the Bushido is now coupled to your power meter and from now on it will be used for power display.

Calibration
In order to obtain correct measurements, the power meter must be calibrated with the Bushido, before use. In your power meter’s manual you will find what you need to do in order to execute the calibration correctly. This is different for every brand. Select the function Settings > Ext.Sensor > Power on the Bushido computer, activate the sensor and click Calibrate. If the calibration was successful, a value will appear on your screen. If this value does not appear, you will have to repeat the procedure.
