The best ergotrainer for
Zdenek Stybar
When Zdenek Stybar saw the Tacx Bushido for the first time, he immediately knew that this was what he had been looking for for so long: the system with which he could optimize his preparation for the big races of the season.
Since then, the Czech cyclo-cross world champion warms up on Tacx's most advanced ergotrainer. It does him well, Stybar always performs when he has to. He also uses the Bushido for indoor training sessions, he explains in an interview with Tacx.
Zdenek, why do you warm up on the Bushido before a race and not on the Booster or Satori cycletrainer, like most other pro riders do?
Zdenek Stybar: ''It's because I really like the Bushido system. I was used to warm up on the rollers. But when I saw the Bushido, I immediately realized that this is the greatest ergotrainer for warming up before races. I need intensity and that's exactly what the Bushido gives me.''
How long does your warming-up take before a race?
''Around 30 minutes. But it varies. If I have just one race in the weekend, my preparation is different than it would have been for a second race in a row.''
How do you build up your warming-up?
''It might sound strange, but there is not really a special plan for it. Sometimes I need more easy turning legs and sometimes I need a hard warming-up of half an hour. Most of the times I build in a few intervals up to a maximum heart rate of 170. At the end of the warming-up I always need to have the feeling that my legs are turning supple.''
Do you also use the Bushido for training at home?
''Yes, when the weather is bad, I use the Bushido indoors as well. Only for my cooling-down I switch to the Antares rollers. Also made by Tacx.'' |
